Use of any Purdue University logos, names and marks without prior written consent is prohibited. This benefit may be tangible or intangible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use must be consistent with Purdue&#8217;s institutional mission, values and standards of excellence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use must be consistent with all other provisions of this policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approval of such use must be granted by a management committee consisting of the Executive Vice President and Treasurer, the Assistant Vice President of&nbsp;Auxiliary Services, the Chief Marketing Officer and the Deputy Athletics Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requests for approval shall be communicated to Trademarks and Licensing in writing. The university may require that such promotions operate under a promotional license, which would be issued by Purdue&#8217;s licensing agent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__panel\" aria-labelledby=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\" id=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-1\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When a Purdue team is an invited participant in an event where the event sponsor&#8217;s trademarks are used to name the event, Purdue allows the use of its trademarks in conjunction with the sponsor\/event trademarks to promote the event. Trademarks and Licensing must approve each individual use.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__panel\" aria-labelledby=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-2\" id=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-2\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The use of Purdue&#8217;s trademarks within advertisements in various media, including but not limited to television, radio, print and the internet, may be permissible if the following four criteria are met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9e47509f442ba5e1a759e015faed2212\">\n<li>The advertisement does not state or imply any university endorsement of the company or its products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The advertisement artwork is approved in writing by a Trademarks and Licensing administrator prior to publication and complies with any other requirements imposed by the administrator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The advertisement promotes the sale of officially licensed Purdue merchandise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The official Purdue university seal is not used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-home-tabs-horizontal__panel active\" aria-labelledby=\"header-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-3\" id=\"panel-b901c6c6-985e-40e2-bcbd-ed3b25a3925b-3\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The use of photographs or illustrations depicting Purdue University depends on several factors, which are detailed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A license agreement is required and royalties are due if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-32137f4eb4970434f78a32ef75c6fbab\">\n<li>The picture or illustration is used as a graphic decoration on a commercial product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The packaging or advertisement for the product that contains or carries a photograph or illustration is presented in a manner that implies affiliation or association with Purdue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purdue&#8217;s trademarks, including the name Purdue, appear on any packaging or promotional materials and\/or announcements that promote the merchandising of the product.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b9bbd816de400754ab218110e9a9aa02 wp-block-paragraph\">A license agreement is NOT required and NO royalties are due if:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5c3f67d73825beeb859f160080713d7b\">\n<li>The photograph or illustration is being used in a historical context by a recognized news agency, publisher or other service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The photograph or illustration is used in an entertainment or artistic context, such as commercial movies or TV shows.
