Any ineligible vehicles that are parked overnight may be ticketed, immobilized or relocated at the owner&#8217;s expense. Proof of the student&#8217;s local address or housing contract for the academic year needs to be uploaded at the time of the permit request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-year student exception requests are completed through the Purdue Parking Portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parking is available in either the Purdue University Airport east gravel lot or at 2550 Northwestern Avenue. Subject to remaining permit availability, students will choose one of the two locations in which to park when purchasing a permit. Free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/campus-mobility\/home\/campus-transit\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/campus-mobility\/home\/campus-transit\/\">campus transit<\/a> service will run during the academic year between these lots and select campus locations to help students travel between destinations. Overnight parking is allowed in these locations for permit holders, excluding university breaks that require a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/operations\/parking\/home\/temporary-vehicle-storage\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"91\">temporary vehicle storage permit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"purdue-accordion-wrap  purdue-accordion-wrap--small\">\n    <div class=\"section has-none-background has-padding-top-none has-padding-bottom-none has-no-sidepadding\">\n        <div class=\"container\">\n            <div id=\"garage\" class=\"purdue-accordion has-no-bottomborder\">\n                <h3 class=\"accordion__heading purdue-accordion__title  purdue-accordion__title--small\" id=\"title-a8b0e520-bacc-4acc-ab8e-a105c02bf63d\">\n                    <button aria-controls=\"content-a8b0e520-bacc-4acc-ab8e-a105c02bf63d\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Student Garage and South Campus Graduate Permits<\/button>\n                <\/h3>\n                <div class=\"accordion__content purdue-accordion__content\" id=\"content-a8b0e520-bacc-4acc-ab8e-a105c02bf63d\" hidden aria-hidden=\n                \"true\">\n                    \n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requests open: Early June<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cost: $250 per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible professional and graduate students may request one of the limited Student Garage or South Campus Graduate permits through the Purdue Parking Portal. Student Garage permits are assigned to a specific parking garage (Wood Street, Northwestern Avenue or University Street). <strong>For the fall 2026 semester, South Campus Graduate permits will be assigned to the Harrison Street Parking Garage and the lot south of Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine. For the spring 2027 semester, they will be reassigned to the Discovery Park lot and the lot south of Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine. They will not be accepted in the Harrison Street Parking Garage during the spring semester.<\/strong> Additional information will be provided to those who hold these permits at the end of the fall semester. Regardless of permit designation or assigned location, these permits may also be used in any surface lot &#8220;C&#8221; space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligibility is determined based on local place of residence for the academic year in which the permit is valid, as shown on the Student Permit Eligibility Boundary map (button at the top of the page). At the time of request, students rank the top two preferred locations for the permit and upload verification of their local address for the academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demand for Student Garage and South Campus Graduate permits is higher than the number of permits available, and a random selection of requesters will be offered a permit. The number of permits available for each assigned location is limited, and preferred locations are not guaranteed. To help manage availability, permits not purchased by selected students within a set amount of time will be made available to other eligible students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible professional and graduate students who are not offered a Student Garage or South Campus Graduate permit should instead request a <a href=\"#c\">&#8220;C&#8221; permit<\/a> as soon as possible, as they are limited and often sell out. Students must upload proof of their local address through the Purdue Parking Portal, and vehicles must be registered for License Plate Recognition and linked to the purchased permit. &#8220;C&#8221; permits often sell out, and eligible students may purchase a <a href=\"#value\">Value permit<\/a> if no &#8220;C&#8221; permits are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Professional and graduate students<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During select dates, eligible professional and graduate students receive priority access to \u201cC\u201d permits in place of a Student Garage or South Campus Graduate permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Undergraduate students<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If &#8220;C&#8221; permits remain available after professional and graduate students have the opportunity to request one, eligible undergraduate students can request one on a first-come basis. Transfer students and second-year students and above who live in a Purdue residence hall, including Aspire, are eligible for a Residence Hall parking permit. A limited number of all student parking permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may sell out. Residence Hall permits are valid in any space posted for Residence Hall permits, and overnight parking is allowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-year students are not eligible for a Residence Hall permit, regardless of earned course credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hawkins Hall Permits<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transfer students and second-year students and above who live in Hawkins Hall may purchase a Hawkins Hall permit through the Purdue Parking Portal. Hawkins Hall permits are valid in designated spaces in the Wood Street Parking Garage and in the Pierce Street lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-year students are not eligible for a Hawkins Hall permit, regardless of earned course credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">University-Contracted Housing<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Parking permits are available for online purchase through the Purdue Parking Portal beginning on a designated date in July for students who live in apartments with a university-housing contract. Contact Parking Operations if you need assistance determining parking permit eligibility.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"column is- is-12-desktop is-full-tablet\"><div class=\"purdue-home-cta-card purdue-home-cta-card--story\"><div class=\"flex-container flex-container--align-center has-gray-background\">\n<h5 id=\"first-year\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">First-Year Student Exceptions<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Requests open: Mid-July<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cost: $75 per year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-year students who live in a Purdue residence hall AND have a documented need to travel off campus may request a <a href=\"#value\">Value permit<\/a> via the First-Year Student Exception Permit Application. Instructions for accessing and completing this form are available in the Purdue Parking Portal under \u201cSpecial Permit Requests.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following off-campus travel needs will be considered when accompanied by documentation listed on the form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Classes off campus (excluding the airport)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reserve\/active military duty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Off-campus employment\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Note: Employment with rideshare and joint food delivery services do not qualify, including but not limited to, Lyft, Uber, InstaCart, UberEats. Delivery drivers for a specific retail establishment may be eligible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>If you have recurring off-campus medical appointments, you do not need to complete this form. Requests are submitted through the Purdue Parking Portal, and a copy of a housing contract must be uploaded at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alternatively, individuals may request a <a href=\"#value\">Value permit<\/a>.
