Purdue\u2019s Brightspace team has announced the selection of the Brightspace Innovation Grant recipients for 2025. The Brightspace Innovation Grant program encourages faculty and staff to explore new and emerging approaches to teaching and learning using Brightspace, Purdue\u2019s learning management system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following Purdue faculty and staff received funding for their projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jack Li, Purdue Fort Wayne<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cEnhancing Engagement of Diverse Learning Styles with Self-Guided Course Module Using Brightspace Quizzes\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This project creates innovative course modules utilizing Brightspace quiz tools to structure multi-format course material and intelligent agents to motivate students. These modules cater to students with diverse learning styles through efficient hands-on activities, providing timely feedback to instructors. The modules support both instructor-led and self-study environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wendi Wolfram, Purdue Global<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDesign Compass: Brightspace Innovation Tool Initiative\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This project develops an instructional tool that educates faculty on Brightspace capabilities at various levels, highlighting design opportunities and constraints. Developed using \u201csandbox\u201d environments to guide faculty in course design and enhance design team collaboration, the tool will maximize Brightspace\u2019s strengths in content creation promoting enhanced student engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Katie Brown, Purdue IT<\/strong> \u201cBridging IT and Education: A Collaborative Onboarding Journey through Brightspace for Purdue System Success\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This project is a system collaboration in response to Purdue Information Technology (Purdue IT) centralization. The Brightspace onboarding course will focus on<\/p>\n\n\n\n a uniform experience for IT staff to demonstrate mastery of skills for their unit and specific role. This will be accomplished through the collaborative efforts of preservice teachers from across the Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest campuses, education faculty, and IT student workers. Advanced Brightspace features will enhance interactivity and accountability for a successful onboarding experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jason Fish, executive director of Purdue Teaching and Learning Technologies, said he looks forward to the positive impact of the projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cInnovation is at the heart of this grant, and the projects moving forward have the potential to transform an already dynamic learning management system in Brightspace,\u201d Fish said. \u201cWe are thrilled we had so many proposals this year.
