Upgrading to Banner 8.x in February

In July 2008 Banner was launched as the “new student system” for the University community.  At that time, One Purdue Executive Director Gary Newsom, now retired, was quoted as saying, "There is no finish line. We have laid a good foundation, and now will continue to build on it to make sure that OnePurdue remains a cutting-edge system that evolves with Purdue and meets its needs." More

The mainframe is planning for retirement

Less than five years ago, the IBM mainframe was the center of enterprise systems for Purdue University business. It contained more than 50 systems, 71,000 programs, 61,000 files, 500,000 records, and with volumes consuming more than 3.5 Terabytes of space. Today, the SAP and SunGard Banner systems run on distributed Oracle, Windows, and Unix servers in ITaP, and there are about 15 processes remaining on the mainframe. More

TLT Instructional Development Center to host consulting open house

On Oct 13, 2009, the TLT Instructional Development Center will host an all-day consulting open house to answer user questions one-on-one. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome, too. More
