Become an Educational Ambassador!

CARE Educational Ambassadors are a select group of students who are dedicated to promoting educational programming and awareness about CARE to the Purdue community.  Educational Ambassadors have the vital role of facilitating programming about sexual violence prevention and education to make this community safer for all members.

Why join?!? Here are 3 reasons:

  1. Because you CARE….Pun intended.  We want students who believe we must talk about sexual violence in order to combat sexual violence.  What better place to start than here?
  2. Résumé Builder...Everyone needs one!  Why not join a new student group, learn advanced presentation and facilitation skills, and gain valuable experience in public speaking.  Need we say more?
  3. Gain Leadership… Opportunities exist to gain experience in marketing, outreach, as well as assessment development and evaluation.

No experience necessary…

We recognize everyone has different knowledge levels about the subject area and potential comfort presenting to peers. Regardless of how you rate yourself, we want you to apply! We designed a weekend-long training program to address these concerns and teach about sexual violence.  You will complete all training prior to facilitating your first workshop.

The training covers material related to content about power-based personal violence. It also covers skill building and assessment, including public speaking, facilitation, and conflict management. CARE staff will discuss challenging areas, offer facilitation tips, and answer questions and concerns.  By the end of the weekend training, you will feel comfortable and capable of facilitating this workshop.

  • To facilitate workshops to any organization requesting a CARE educational program
  • To positively and accurately share information about the resources and services available at CARE
  • To maintain active and productive membership by attending Educational Ambassador staff meetings, facilitating educational programs, and volunteering when needed

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Application process
  • In-person Interview
  • Minimum of 12 hours of training (The weekend-long training will take place Saturday, August 24th & Sunday, August 25th)
