The push to provide top-tier resources for entrepreneurial activities in Indiana is paying off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fiscal year 2024 Purdue once again reached new entrepreneurial milestones, shattering records set just last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2024\/Q3\/purdue-research-awards-philanthropic-fundraising-undergrad-and-graduate-applications-and-selectivity-graduation-rate-online-enrollment-patents-received-and-media-visibility-all-set-records-in-fiscal-year-2024.html?utm_source=sfmcPT&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=240802PurdueTodayTrusteesIssue&amp;utm_term=Purdue+research+awards%2c+philanthropic+fundraising%2c+undergrad+and+graduate+applications+and+selectivity%2c+graduation+rate%2c+online+enrollment%2c+patents+received+and+media+visibility+all+set+records+in+fiscal+year+2024&amp;utm_id=940372\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/Q3\/purdue-research-awards-philanthropic-fundraising-undergrad-and-graduate-applications-and-selectivity-graduation-rate-online-enrollment-patents-received-and-media-visibility-all-set-records-in-fis-2\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/Q3\/purdue-research-awards-philanthropic-fundraising-undergrad-and-graduate-applications-and-selectivity-graduation-rate-online-enrollment-patents-received-and-media-visibility-all-set-records-in-fis-2\/\">ccording to a summary report<\/a> presented to the university\u2019s Board of Trustees by President Mung Chiang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe excellence at scale of Purdue inventions is yet again reflected in the metrics I shared for fiscal year 2024,\u201d Chiang said. \u201cBoilermakers continue to translate fundamental research breakthroughs to societal impact, changing the world with their innovations. Supported by Purdue Innovates, I expect the support for Boilermaker inventors and entrepreneurs in years to come will intensify \u2014 and records will continue to be broken.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the banner of Purdue Innovates, the <a href=\"https:\/\/otc.prf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC)<\/a> operates one of the most comprehensive and active technology transfer programs among leading research universities in the United States. Among the most notable statistics, OTC reported the following in fiscal 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intellectual property disclosures surged nearly 17% to 466 from 400.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patents issued for Boilermaker innovations increased by 11% to 290.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patent licenses skyrocketed by 49% to 224.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By turning knowledge into impact at scale, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2024\/Q2\/purdue-ranks-4th-in-u.s-for-u.s-patents-received-in-2023.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Purdue University researchers ranked No. 4 among all U.S. universities and No. 5 among all international universities<\/a> in U.S. patents received in 2023. Its 201 patents for the calendar year ranked first both in Indiana and the Big Ten Conference.
