{"id":7212,"date":"2023-11-17T09:35:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-17T13:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/?p=7212"},"modified":"2024-07-30T09:38:10","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T13:38:10","slug":"purdue-part-of-new-international-video-project-exploring-climate-change-as-a-health-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/2023\/Q4\/purdue-part-of-new-international-video-project-exploring-climate-change-as-a-health-crisis","title":{"rendered":"Purdue part of new international video project exploring climate change as a health crisis"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"purdue-initial-words-wrap\"><p class=\"purdue-initial-words wp-block-paragraph\">WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. &mdash;<\/p> \n<p>A short film created for Purdue University and produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions builds on the award-winning reputation of Purdue\u2019s Marketing and Communications department to use cinematic storytelling to convey the impact of the university\u2019s education and research.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8cGc68MjDuw\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Watch the Purdue-branded film on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This mini-documentary is part of a branded series, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theclimateandus.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Climate and Us<\/a>,\u201d presented by the Global Climate and Health Alliance. BBC StoryWorks, the commercial content division of BBC Studios, had approached Purdue for the creation of this film. Purdue Marketing and Communications agreed to fund the film to share the university\u2019s research and build brand affinity with a global audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The film captures how a professor in Purdue\u2019s College of Engineering, Andrew Whelton, successfully helped a Colorado community recover from drinking water contamination caused by the 2021 Marshall Fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside this film, Purdue Marketing and Communications tells more of Whelton\u2019s story through a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/stories.purdue.edu\/purdue-professor-brings-the-world-to-help-after-maui-hawaii-wildfires\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">captivating written piece and photos<\/a>&nbsp;of his travels to the sites of communities impacted by wildfires. The piece lives on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/stories.purdue.edu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Persistent Pursuit<\/a>&nbsp;website, created to dynamically showcase stories about the people who make up Purdue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Projects from Purdue\u2019s marketing team are currently finalists in five categories for PR Daily\u2019s Content Marketing Awards, including Team of the Year, and in two categories for Campaign US BIG Awards. The video \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/nuF2WKjUNbc?si=I6A5aBww-PvieV8D\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">What Can You Imagine at Purdue?<\/a>\u201d is among the team\u2019s award-winning creations.
