The award recognizes her creativity, leadership, student engagement and ongoing commitment to open access projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ag.purdue.edu\/fnr\/Pages\/Haviarova-Selected-as-Woman-Ambassador-of-Wood-Science.aspx\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Eva Haviarova<\/a>, professor of wood products in the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, was selected as a Women Ambassador from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swst.org\/wp\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Society of Wood Science and Technology<\/a> (SWST). Haviarova was among 16 ambassadors announced on Feb. 11 as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science celebration. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swst.org\/wp\/careers\/women-ambassadors-creating-the-future-of-wood-science\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Women Ambassadors Creating the Future of Wood Science<\/a> is a traveling SWST-sponsored exhibition designed to celebrate women ambassadors over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>*&nbsp; *&nbsp; *&nbsp; *&nbsp; *<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; Purdue alumna Jennifer Rumsey (\u201996) has been appointed the new president and chief operating officer of Cummins Inc., effective March 1. During her time at Purdue, Rumsey studied mechanical engineering and was part of Purdue Society of Women Engineers.
