{"id":479,"date":"2022-01-11T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/?p=479"},"modified":"2024-06-03T20:05:24","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T20:05:24","slug":"ag-alumni-fish-fry-postponed-until-spring-due-to-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/2022\/Q1\/ag-alumni-fish-fry-postponed-until-spring-due-to-covid-19","title":{"rendered":"Ag Alumni Fish Fry postponed until spring due to COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"purdue-initial-words-wrap\"><p class=\"purdue-initial-words wp-block-paragraph\">WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. &mdash;<\/p> \n<p>The annual Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry, originally set for Feb. 5, has been postponed until April 30 due to safety concerns surrounding the current COVID-19 Omicron variant surge in Indiana.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Danica Kirkpatrick, executive director of the Purdue Ag Alumni Association, spoke about the difficult decision made by the event planning team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe became concerned that we could not produce this event safely,\u201d Kirkpatrick said. \u201cWe will return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds and will have a wonderful celebration this spring.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ticket holders who plan to attend the April 30 event will be able to use the tickets they have purchased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ticket holders who are no longer able to attend the 2022 Fish Fry should email Kirkpatrick at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:danica@purdue.edu\">danica@purdue.edu<\/a> so that a refund can be processed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe will return to the February dates in 2023,\u201d Kirkpatrick said. \u201cThank you for understanding, stay safe and healthy, and we\u2019ll see you in April.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. &mdash; The annual Purdue Ag Alumni Fish Fry, originally set for Feb. 5, has been postponed until April 30 due to safety concerns surrounding the current COVID-19 Omicron variant surge in Indiana.
