Amelia Earhart: Aviator. Legend. Boilermaker.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most famous aviators of all time, Amelia Earhart worked at Purdue from 1935 until her disappearance in 1937. Purdue\u2019s airport, which opened in 1930, was named a historical site<\/a> by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2005. Earhart\u2019s key role in Purdue\u2019s aviation history was an important factor in this distinction. Purdue University Airport\u2019s new terminal will be named for Earhart<\/a> when commercial flight service returns in spring 2024.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Congress is considering extenders that may increase the child tax credit, Eagan says people should think about waiting to file their taxes until the April deadline gets closer. He also reminds people to be wary of phone calls claiming to be from the IRS, as these are likely scams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue agricultural economists provide economic forecast for 2024 amid farm bill uncertainties and global dynamics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University Department of Agricultural Economics<\/a> experts have published their 2024 outlook on the national economy, trade, policy and food prices. \u201cAs we enter 2024, the complexities surrounding the farm bill debate persist. With federal spending cuts in focus, the projected cost of the farm bill will likely take center stage in agricultural committee deliberations this year,\u201d said Roman Keeney<\/a>, associate professor of agricultural economics at Purdue University and co-editor of the report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University announce new collaboration to grow Indiana\u2019s engineering workforce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ivy Tech and Purdue University signed a memorandum of collaboration on the Ivy Tech Columbus campus for a new program called Green2Gold that will offer a combined Associate of Science in engineering from Ivy Tech and a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Purdue. The new collaboration is aimed at growing Indiana\u2019s engineering workforce and creating another pathway for Indiana residents to become Purdue engineers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peraton expands research and innovation center at Purdue Applied Research Institute<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Peraton of Reston, Virginia, has signed an agreement with the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI) to expand its West Lafayette Research and Innovation Center, moving from its current location to PARI facilities as Peraton expands its national security research. The center conducts applied research and development in cyber, networking, operations and quantum technologies with deep expertise in cyber defense, network virtualization, critical infrastructure protection, exploration and assessment of emerging cyber threats, and networking technologies and operations from architecture and protocols to network control and service management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
