{"id":4361,"date":"2024-02-01T16:28:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T16:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/?p=4361"},"modified":"2024-07-02T16:30:55","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T16:30:55","slug":"purdue-police-fire-departments-to-offer-prepared-at-purdue-training-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/2024\/Q1\/purdue-police-fire-departments-to-offer-prepared-at-purdue-training-2","title":{"rendered":"Purdue Police, Fire departments to offer \u2018Prepared at Purdue\u2019 training"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"purdue-initial-words-wrap\"><p class=\"purdue-initial-words\">WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. &mdash;<\/p> \n<p>The Purdue University Police&nbsp;and Fire departments are offering \u201cPrepared at Purdue\u201d training in February and March.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Free, in-person training classes will be offered on potential active threat&nbsp;events and on rendering aid as civilians to control the bleeding of injured persons.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) class&nbsp;provides strategies, guidance and plan options for surviving an active threat event. Topics&nbsp;include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options and&nbsp;preparing your response in advance. CRASE was designed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training in&nbsp;2004.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStop the Bleed\u201d teaches how to recognize and act quickly and effectively to control life-threatening bleeding.
