Today, that pioneering spirit shows no sign of abating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Computer science is the largest and most selective undergraduate major on Purdue\u2019s campus, with 2,405 undergraduate and 538 graduate students enrolled as of fall 2022. Within the last few years, the department has added two undergraduate majors \u2013&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.purdue.edu\/undergraduate\/curriculum\/data-science.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">data science<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.purdue.edu\/undergraduate\/curriculum\/bachelor-ai.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">artificial intelligence<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 to complement the traditional&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cs.purdue.edu\/undergraduate\/curriculum\/bachelor.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">computer science<\/a>&nbsp;degree path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purdue recently unveiled plans for the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/computes\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Purdue Computes<\/a>&nbsp;initiative, which will provide vital strategic investments for faculty hires, artificial intelligence research and semiconductor facility upgrades.
