These faculty members will complete their research in educational institutes and research facilities around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. The program aims to increase mutual understanding between the United States and other countries.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2022\/Q1\/purdue-joins-elite-list-of-fulbright-top-producing-institutions.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Purdue University&nbsp;<\/a>was recognized earlier this year for joining the elite list of Fulbright top-producing institutions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Awardees, projects, and destinations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/polytechnic.purdue.edu\/profile\/kspellar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kathryn Seigfried-Spellar<\/a>, associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology, Purdue Polytechnic Institute. Seigfried-Spellar will live in Spain researching the \u201cOnline Grooming Strategies of Child Sex Offenders in Spain.\u201d Her host will be the University Research Institute of Criminology and Criminal Science at the University of Valencia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cla.purdue.edu\/directory\/profiles\/alejandro-cuza.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alejandro Cuza<\/a>, professor of Spanish and Portuguese, College of Liberal Arts. Cuza will live in Mexico while examining \u201cThe Development of Spanish and English as Heritage Languages During Childhood: Implications for Classroom Instruction in Mexico and the United States.\u201d He will be hosted by the Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.purdue.edu\/ME\/People\/Areas\/ptProfile?resource_id=113506&amp;group_id=11989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guillermo Paniagua<\/a>, professor of mechanical engineering, College of Engineering. Paniagua will focus on \u201cH2-Air Rotating Detonation Integration Into Gas Turbines for Clean Propulsion.\u201d He has been awarded the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar Award in Alternative Energy Technology. He will be hosted by the Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ag.purdue.edu\/department\/ansc\/directory.html#\/zmachaty\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zolton Machaty<\/a>, professor in the Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture. Based in France, Machaty will focus on \u201cIdentifying Regulators of Nerve Cord Morphogenesis.\u201d His host is the Villefranche-sur-Mer Developmental Biology Laboratory.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.purdue.edu\/ME\/People\/Areas\/ptProfile?resource_id=134738&amp;group_id=11989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ivan Christov<\/a>, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, College of Engineering. His research project title is \u201cNonlocal Nonlinear Interfacial Waves.\u201d The goal of his research is to work with world experts to unravel the physics of tunable ferrofluid interfaces. Christov will be hosted in Cyprus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since its establishment in 1946, more than 400,000 students, scholars and teachers have been awarded Fulbright fellowships. Fulbright alumni have achieved distinction in many fields, including 60 who have been awarded the Nobel Prize, 88 who have received Pulitzer Prizes and 39 who have served as a head of state or government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline for applying to the Fulbright 2023-24 competition is September 15, 2022.
