Daniels, Jr. School of Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commitment represents the latest in a long history of giving for the Lyles family, which can trace its Purdue ties back to Gerald\u2019s maternal grandfather, who was both a student and a professor at the university. Gerald\u2019s parents, brother and sister are also graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Lyles family, which has found success primarily in the construction business,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2014\/Q1\/lyles-family-gives-15-million-to-school-of-civil-engineering.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gave $15 million to Purdue in 2014<\/a>&nbsp;to name the Lyles School of Civil Engineering. The family and its members have also helped establish the Lyles Family Ideas to Innovation Learning Laboratory, the William M. Lyles Computational Laboratory and Lyles-Porter Hall, among a wide variety of other contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s only natural that we give back to Purdue because the university has played such a big part in our success,\u201d Gerald Lyles said. \u201cI feel like Purdue has done so much for me and my family. When I studied engineering and business at Purdue, I received a great foundational education and then learned the skills I needed to be competitive in the world. We truly believe in the new direction Purdue is taking with the business school, and we want our gift to amplify the impact it can make for the facilities, faculty and students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This gift is the latest contribution made in support of the reimagined Daniels School, which was unveiled as Purdue\u2019s next big move in February. Among other major commitments are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$50 million from the Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation to name the undergraduate program the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2023\/Q1\/white-family-foundation-commits-50-million-to-new-daniels-school-of-business-at-purdue-university.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bruce White Undergraduate Institute<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$10 million from Marshall and Susan Larsen to fund the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/business.purdue.edu\/news\/features\/2023\/marshall-larsen.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Larsen Leaders Academy<\/a>\u00a0in perpetuity, offering impactful experiential learning opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$4 million to name the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2023\/Q1\/raytheon-technologies-commits-4-million-to-purdue-for-named-chair-position-in-new-school-of-business.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Raytheon Technologies Chair<\/a>\u00a0in Integrated Business and Engineering to support faculty leadership, discovery and engagement within business and STEM intersections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A transformational gift from Tom Howatt to support the areas of greatest need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Below is a list of additional supporters who, along with four anonymous donors, have each contributed $1 million or more:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Norm and Karen Blake<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Michael Byers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jeannie and Jim Chaney<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nathan and Beth Gabhart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jim and Barbi Hayes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scott Kozuch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jerry and Pam Rawls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPurdue is fortunate to have dedicated partners like Gerald and Nanette Lyles, who have enthusiastically embraced their family\u2019s history of giving and our vision for the future of the university,\u201d said Purdue President Mung Chiang. \u201cThis generous contribution will help us build the foundation for a world-class business school, one that will educate many future leaders in a technology-driven, free-market economy.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gerald Lyles, who received the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.purdue.edu\/Engr\/People\/Awards\/Institutional\/DEA\/DEA_2018\/Lyles\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award<\/a>&nbsp;in 2018, is president of Lyles United LLC and Lyles Investments LLC and serves as chairman of the board and senior vice president of Lyles Diversified. All three entities are part of the Lyles Group. W.M. Lyles Co., a pipeline construction business founded by his parents in 1945, was the original family company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a couple, Gerald and Nanette Lyles have been recognized for their philanthropy with the Purdue President\u2019s Council Crystal Boilermaker Special.
