First-of-its-kind estimate of the total number of tree species<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A team of scientists co-led by Jingjing Liang, assistant professor of quantitative forest ecology, has created the first data estimate of the total number of tree species on Earth \u2013 73,300 with over 9,000 species yet to be discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
