Nursing prof discusses rising RSV risk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jennifer Coddington, a nurse practitioner and clinical assistant professor of nursing at Purdue University, explains what respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is and why there has been a surge in cases. Coddington says RSV is a common respiratory virus and one of the most common causes of bronchiolitis in children. RSV can lead to wheezing, coughing, congestion and low-grade fever. She says that while there is no treatment for RSV, taking standard precautions such as covering coughs and sneezes and washing hands can help prevent the spread of this illness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
