The Rittal + Eplan Lab expands an international partnership announced in <a href=\"https:\/\/polytechnic.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/purdue-rittal-eplan-announce-strategic-partnership-smart-manufacturing-engineering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">October 2025<\/a> to strengthen workforce development and prepare students for careers in advanced smart manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Purdue is engaged in a five\u2011year collaboration as the primary U.S. academic research partner within the Rittal + Eplan Partner Network. The collaboration reflects Rittal and Eplan\u2019s broader commitment to strengthening education with technologies and integrated workflows increasingly used across industry.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/rittaleplan-logo.jpg\" alt=\"The Rittal and Eplan logos.\" class=\"wp-image-23474\" title=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developed through a collaboration between Purdue Polytechnic Institute and Rittal and Eplan, companies within Germany-based Friedhelm Loh Group, the lab brings industry expertise and engineering technology into Purdue\u2019s learning environment while helping create a pipeline of skilled talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Rittal + Eplan Lab presents a unique environment where Purdue students can develop hands-on experience with tools and processes that are critical to a vast array of tech-focused industries,\u201d said Daniel Castro, dean of Purdue Polytechnic. \u201cPurdue Polytechnic has always focused on practical learning and problem-solving skills as we prepare the next generation of job-ready talent. This integrated approach mirrors how manufacturers are increasingly connecting engineering and production to improve efficiency, standardization and scalability while providing students with industry-relevant skills applicable across major American industries, including automotive, aerospace and manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIndustry is changing rapidly, and the next generation of engineers need more than an understanding of individual technologies.
