This was my chance to make it happen\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"purdue-initial-words-wrap\"><p class=\"purdue-initial-words\">WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. &mdash;<\/p> \n<p>Kerry Bruso has always been a performer. She started dancing when she was 3 years old and says it\u2019s always been the thing that lights her up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s extremely empowering,\u201d she says. \u201cIt fills your whole soul.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bruso, who earned her MBA from Purdue Global in May, was an academic force to be reckoned with. The Bel Air, Maryland, resident graduated from a highly competitive magnet high school program, the Science and Mathematics Academy. She went on to get her bachelor\u2019s degree in dance performance from Oklahoma City University in 2017 and became a dancer at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/disneyworld.disney.go.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Walt Disney World<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While most people wouldn\u2019t think of a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdueglobal.edu\/degree-programs\/business\/online-mba-master-business-administration\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">master\u2019s in business administration<\/a>&nbsp;as something that could advance a dancer\u2019s career, Bruso saw an opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she learned about what a Disney World choreographer does and how it could be in her future, she knew this was the smart way to look ahead. But it wouldn\u2019t be a simple path and definitely not an easy one.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soon after graduating from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/newsroom\/releases\/2023\/Q2\/more-than-1,400-graduates-celebrate-their-comeback-during-purdue-global-commencement-ceremonies.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Purdue Global<\/a>&nbsp;\u2014 where<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1NfDIBswh-ZFpnWwgK-ehq5-fZKAopgGL\/view?usp=drive_link\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;she sang the national anthem<\/a>&nbsp;at her commencement ceremony \u2014 she was promoted and moved into the choreographer role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am absolutely loving my new job and feel so grateful to be living a dream of mine,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to say goodbye to performing, but hopefully, it\u2019s not necessarily a goodbye. I have so many other dreams and passions other than dance.
