WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. \u2014 Purdue Global\u2019s School of Business and Information Technology has launched a new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program<\/a>, with the first classes starting March 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DBA degrees are ideal for people who want to take their leadership, strategic thinking and research capabilities to the next level. Students who have completed an MBA through Purdue Global can transfer up to 32 credit hours. The DBA can be specialized in areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing and other business areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jose Siqueira<\/a>, a faculty member in the School of Business and Information Technology, said faculty see the DBA program as a great opportunity to prepare students to tackle challenges scientifically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur DBA is designed for experienced professionals to use existing academic theories to solve complex, real-world organizational problems,\u201d Siqueira said. \u201cThe program bridges the gap between high-level scholarship and professional practice, turning a student into a \u2018scholar-practitioner.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Siqueira said Purdue Global students are expected to learn \u201cthought leadership\u201d needed to influence their respective business sector, whether that means consulting for global firms, taking on executive roles or publishing their results in reputable practitioners\u2019 journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStudents graduate not only with a degree but also with specific knowledge that establishes them as the definitive authority in their chosen profession,\u201d Siqueira said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cathy Hochanadel<\/a>, academic department chair and faculty member in the School of Business and Information Technology, agrees that the new program will teach students how to solve various real-world business situations with disciplined inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe launch of our Doctor of Business Administration program reflects Purdue Global\u2019s commitment to providing advanced, career-relevant education for experienced business professionals,\u201d Hochanadel said. \u201cThis program is designed to bridge theory and practice, empowering leaders to apply rigorous research and strategic thinking to solve complex, real-world business challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeffrey Buck<\/a>, dean and vice president of Purdue Global\u2019s School of Business and Information Technology, said launching the new DBA is a milestone in the evolution of the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt signals our commitment to the entire life cycle of a business leader. By adding this terminal degree, we aren\u2019t just expanding our catalog; we are closing the gap between high-level academic theory and executive-level practice,\u201d Buck said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program\u2019s goal is to develop \u201cscholar-practitioners\u201d who don\u2019t just manage organizations but successfully transform them by using data-driven solutions and leading with an understanding of modern business ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe DBA provides the \u2018intellectual currency\u2019 and credibility to move the needle of business results, moving working professionals into C-suite and consultant roles,\u201d Buck said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
