WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. \u2014 Indiana residents planning to attend college or a vocational\/technical school in the fall 2026 should submit the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before April 15 to be considered for state-based financial aid. Families can get free FAFSA help from financial aid experts during College Goal Sunday (CGS) from 2-4 p.m. local time, Nov. 9. Students\/families can learn more and find all 34 participating CGS site locations at collegegoalsunday.org\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to attending the event, new dependent student filers and at least one parent should set up their Federal Student Aid Account username and password (FSA-ID) by clicking on \u201cCreate Account\u201d in the top right at https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/<\/a>. The 2026-27 FAFSA will collect 2024 tax information. Each family member, the student, spouse or parent(s) must give consent for the FAFSA to retrieve their tax data directly from the IRS. Parents should also bring their 2024 IRS tax return, W-2 forms, and current bank statements and investment information for any manual data entries. Students who worked in 2024 should bring their own 2024 IRS tax return, W-2 form, and current bank statements and investment information.
