Purdue Motorsports and Dallara celebrate transformational partnership<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University and Dallara came together to celebrate the start of a partnership that will connect Purdue motorsports engineering students to the prominent industry leader in the heart of the world\u2019s racing capital. The partnership pairs Purdue\u2019s unique motorsports engineering program \u2014 the only undergraduate, ABET-accredited such program in the country \u2014 and Dallara, the largest multinational Italian race car manufacturer, inside Dallara\u2019s U.S. headquarters, located just one mile from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Indiana\u2019s only nuclear reactor, engineers conduct the first experiments of their kind in the U.S.<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Underground on Purdue University\u2019s campus is the only nuclear reactor in Indiana. Although used just for research purposes \u2014 the total energy the reactor generates powers about the equivalent of 10 microwaves \u2014 Purdue University Reactor Number One has specific features that no other reactor in the U.S. has. But those features are coming in the next generation of reactors. With these features, future reactors could cost less to operate and maintain, be safer and last longer \u2014 removing barriers in building additional reactors to increase generation of carbon-free electricity. Research that Purdue engineers are conducting with these features is helping develop new techniques that reactors could use to achieve these goals, which align with the university\u2019s efforts to investigate nuclear energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NSF awards $300K grant to LyoWave to scale up its high-frequency microwave heating tech for biopharma manufacturing<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $304,436 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research grant to LyoWave Inc. for a project that could increase the availability of lifesaving medicines and reduce pharmaceutical development and manufacturing costs. LyoWave has also received a Phase I matching grant of $50,000 from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.\u2019s Applied Research Institute. LyoWave commercializes innovative microwave heating technologies developed at Purdue University that improve upon traditional lyophilization \u2014 or the process of freeze-drying perishable products \u2014 by increasing speed, cost-effectiveness and product throughput.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue center offers first comprehensive open access database of all clinically tested drugs<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University\u2019s College of Pharmacy<\/a> is now home to the Center for Research Innovation in Biotechnology<\/a> and the Clinical Drug Experience Knowledgebase<\/a>, a comprehensive database of every active pharmaceutical ingredient with evidence of clinical testing. The center, or CRIB, is a collaborative effort between Purdue<\/a> and Stony Brook<\/a> universities. It was founded in 2014 at Washington University in St. Louis by Michael Kinch<\/a>, a former Purdue faculty member who is now Stony Brook\u2019s chief innovation officer and CRIB\u2019s director. The center provides transparent information and analyses of drug discovery and development via the knowledgebase, or CDEK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University\u2019s online MBA expands reach<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The online MBA program at Purdue University\u2019s Mitch Daniels School of Business, ranked No. 7 in North America by CEO Magazine, is becoming more accessible to working professionals. Beginning with the fall 2025 semester, the cost of the program will be lowered to provide more opportunities for students to earn an MBA without leaving their current jobs. Students can choose a program path with four themes: finance and economics, supply chain management, leadership, and analytics. Each theme has different specializations, allowing students to customize the program best for them and make the degree as relevant as possible to their needs and to align with their career goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
