Purdue University semiconductor faculty leaders recently conducted a mini retreat with President Mung Chiang and Arvind Raman, the John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering, to discuss immediate next steps and long-term plans for Semiconductors@Purdue. Based on the foundation laid with the signing of the CHIPS and Science Act in 2022, Purdue is forging pathways to the future with successful new partnerships and initiatives that will support a growing semiconductor ecosystem at Purdue and across Indiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue launches online version of its groundbreaking Master of Business and Technology degree<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University has launched an online version of its groundbreaking Master of Business and Technology degree, designed to go beyond a traditional business education and to focus on the nexus of business and technology \u2014 at a time when almost every business is a technology business. Purdue\u2019s STEM-designated Master of Business and Technology differs from an MBA in its emphasis on leveraging emerging technologies to address existing challenges facing businesses; conceptualize yet-to-exist technological innovations; and apply data-driven decision-making, business strategy and project management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue helps celebrate 100th birthday of The Children\u2019s Museum of Indianapolis<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing a century of enchanting millions of patrons at the iconic venue, Purdue University has joined a milestone celebration for The Children\u2019s Museum of Indianapolis, serving as the official centennial sponsor for the museum\u2019s 100th birthday throughout 2025. As part of the sponsorship, Purdue is also presenting the \u201cMemories, Wonders, and Dreams: Stories From 100 Years\u201d exhibit, which highlights 100 objects from The Children\u2019s Museum of Indianapolis\u2019 vast collection. Besides the exhibit and presenting sponsorship, Purdue will create several engagements for museum attendees to enjoy throughout the yearlong celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AP video \u2014 Why we love Super Bowl ads<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Federico Rossi, an associate professor of management in the Mitch Daniels School of Business at Purdue University, explains the strategy behind Super Bowl ads. Because Super Bowl ads are so expensive, companies want to put out high quality, effective advertising. Super Bowl ads are successful not only because so many people are watching, but also because they are funny, engaging, and create awareness in a way that sticks with the audience differently than commercials for other shows or events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue-created GRAVI-BOT centrifuge system works in spaceflight microgravity and zero-gravity environments<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A researcher in Purdue University\u2019s College of Agriculture<\/a> and College of Engineering<\/a> has created and validated a patent-pending free-flying robotic centrifuge system for research and process applications in crewed spaceflight. The system is called GRAVI-BOT, or GRAvity-Variable Instrument for Biological and Operational Tasks. D. Marshall Porterfield and his team have applied compressed gas thrusters to propel and drive constant rotational acceleration to provide torque to the centrifuge\u2019s central rotational axis. Porterfield is a professor in the departments of Agricultural and Biological Engineering<\/a> and Horticulture and Landscape Architecture<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
