Online master\u2019s degrees in engineering and education from Purdue again rank among the nation\u2019s finest<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Four of Purdue University\u2019s online master\u2019s degrees in engineering are ranked No. 1 in the newest rankings of best online programs from U.S. News & World Report, and Purdue\u2019s full array of online master\u2019s programs in engineering ranked No. 2 nationally, up one spot from 2024. Three of Purdue\u2019s online master\u2019s in education programs also moved into the top 10 in the annual U.S. News rankings of graduate programs delivered online throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue aims to speed evolution of pharma manufacturing in collaboration with Lilly and Merck<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue University, in collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company and Merck & Co. Inc., announced Jan. 17 the launch of the Young Institute Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Consortium, a collaborative effort to pioneer advances in making medicines. Operating within Purdue\u2019s William D. and Sherry L. Young Institute for Advanced Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals<\/a>, consortium partners will revolutionize pharmaceutical manufacturing with a focus on sterile injectables and innovative aseptic manufacturing technology to ensure quality, safety and compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purdue wraps up strong presence at 2025 Consumer Electronics Show<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purdue brought its strengths in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and other innovative areas to the Consumer Electronics Show<\/a> in Las Vegas. Known as CES, the annual expo took place Jan. 7-10 and is considered the world\u2019s largest showcase of the latest consumer electronics. Purdue\u2019s presence also included its expertise in industry partnerships and entrepreneurship. From a booth at CES, Purdue Strategic Ventures, the Purdue Innovates<\/a> Office of Technology Commercialization and the Indiana Economic Development Corp. networked with existing partners, explored new partnerships through research and licensing, and learned about new technologies and companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AP video \u2014 Los Angeles wildfires: How to avoid charity scams<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eugene Spafford, a professor of computer science and the executive director emeritus of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security at Purdue, explains how to avoid falling for charity scams during humanitarian crises such as the Los Angeles wildfires. Whenever there is a catastrophe of any kind, scammers and fraudsters will try to take advantage of people who want to help. This can be done online through fake links, false websites and fake solicitations for charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI-driven digital twins in agricultural research hold the promise for better crops<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Researchers are using AI to change agricultural research, and the results may reach your plate. Bedrich Benes, professor and associate head of the Department of Computer Science at Purdue, is working with a team of researchers, including James Schnable from the University of Nebraska and Baskar Ganapathysubramanian from Iowa State University, on a three-year project sponsored by $2 million from the National Science Foundation to develop computer models of crops that will allow for the exploration of possible scenarios and the discovery of genes that control plant shape and function. This can lead to better crops that will be more efficient in the current climate and adapt to a possibly changing climate.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
