Exploring the world of communication

Ashley Fritz has visited 11 countries since third grade, including France through Purdue University’s Study Abroad program.

“Paris has always been my dream city, so it was so much fun to experience it for the first time with other Purdue students who were passionate about the language,” she says.

A senior from Geneva, Illinois, Ashley is pursuing a major in public relations and strategic communication, in addition to a second major in French. Interested in the advertising and PR fields, she thrives academically through the personal attention professors in the Lamb School of Communication provide.

“Many of my instructors have taken time to help and get to know me,” she says. “It’s been  helpful to establish connections with them.”

Beyond the classroom, Ashley is publicity chair for Rising Professionals. This program invites young alumni back to campus to share their college memories, relating how attending Purdue benefited them personally.

Ashley also is a Purduette, which gives her the opportunity to sing and perform, both in the community and around the world.
