Purdue Extension hosting workshop for next generation of farmland seekers
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Extension’s Farmland for the Next Generation program is designed to help attendees achieve their land acquisition goals.
The five-session virtual interactive series will address three paths to land access: leasing, purchasing and receiving land through inheritance or gift. It uses a skills-based approach that focuses on what people need to be able to do, not just on what they need to know. The series will be offered 6:30-8:30 p.m. ET Monday evenings Feb. 21 through March 21.
Purdue Extension Educators and industry professionals will present on a variety of topics including:
- Financial readiness.
- Paths to land access.
- Finding farmland.
- Assessing farmland suitability.

The curriculum was created by the American Farmland Trust, supported by a four-year Educational Enhancement grant from the USDA Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development program. The program is sponsored by Farm Credit Mid-America.
