FDA approves pioneering drug for ovarian cancer surgery

Philip Low, Purdue's Presidential Scholar for Drug Discovery and the Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, was an inventor of a new drug recently approved by the FDA that will allow physicians to identify additional cancerous lesions, which otherwise would have been left behind, in up to 27% more patients during ovarian cancer surgery.

Researchers study the link between vitamin D and inflammation

Majid Kazemian, assistant professor in the departments of Computer Science and Biochemistry at Purdue, and a team of scientists have discovered that a form of vitamin D (not the over-the-counter pills) could help combat the inflammation in cells of people with severe cases of COVID-19.
