Agriculture career event for high school females
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue Extension Women in Agriculture team is hosting the 2021 Young Ladies in Ag virtual forum 6-8 p.m. Thursday (April 29). Created for females in grades 8-12, attendees will learn more about bridging the gender gap in agriculture and agriculture careers, majors and scholarships.
Amy and Emily Dougherty, owners of Harvest Adventures at Dougherty Family Farms, will speak about their multigenerational family farm and discuss their new enterprise during the keynote address. Emily, a former FFA state officer, will discuss her experiences as a college student and career professional.
The program will conclude with a panel discussion on ag careers, majors, scholarships and insights from women associated with Purdue University, Huntington University and Ivy Tech.
