Virginia Booth Womack, director of the Minority Engineering Program, was honored on Oct. 28 as part of The Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2020 Women of Influence. The program recognizes women who have risen to the highest levels of business, the arts, and community and public service in central Indiana. Womack was selected for professional excellence and leadership in her career and community service.

- Notables:
The College of Veterinary Medicine received the Presidential Award from the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. This award was accepted by Dean Willie Reed and recognizes the college for its longtime commitment to the arts in partnership with the museum.
Purdue University’s Delta Omega chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honors society, has received the Best Chapter Award for 2019-2020. Delta Omega was chosen for this award because it has demonstrated a high level of engagement within the chapter.
Purdue University Press has recently published two new books that will serve as essential resources for patients with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones and caregivers to help make sense of what comes next after such a diagnosis. “The Complete Guide for People With Parkinson’s Disease and Their Loved Ones” and “Everything You Need to Know About Caregiving for Parkinson’s Disease” by Lianna Marie are now available in print and e-book formats from all major retailers.
