You can’t get the flu from a flu shot
The most common reason that people avoid getting the annual flu vaccine is that they believe they will get the flu from it, but that’s not the case, says Libby Richards, an associate professor of nursing who specializes in public health in Purdue’s School of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Sciences.

Four County group receives support from Purdue to help improve access to veteran resources
Purdue’s Military Family Research Institute and the Purdue Center for Regional Development recently announced that the Four County Joining Community Forces Military Supportive Communities Initiative (MSCI) Pathway Project proposal was accepted. The group will receive a $2,000 grant to strengthen the capacity of military/veteran families in accessing local resources.

Purdue fluid power research engineer wins international honor
Andrea Vacca, professor of agricultural and biological engineering and mechanical engineering, has received the 2019 Joseph Bramah Medal. He is honored for his contributions to global fluid power research, particularly related to gear pumps.
