Appointments, honors and activities

- Azza Ahmed, associate professor of nursing in College of Health and Human Sciences’ School of Nursing, recently was elected a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.  

- Josh Chan, the Krannert Rising Star Professor of Economics, was selected chair-elect of the Section on Economics, Finance, and Business for the International Society of Bayesian Analysis. Chan succeeds Justin Tobias, professor of economics, in the role.

- Four professors were selected to the 2019 Highly Cited Researchers list as compiled by Web of Science Group. The list “recognizes the world’s most influential researchers of the past decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science,” according to the group’s website. Purdue selections to the list are Kinam Park, the Showalter Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering and a professor of pharmaceutics; Letian Dou, an assistant professor of chemical engineering; Peide D. Ye, the Richard J. and Mary Jo Schwartz Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Vladimir M. Shalaev, the Robert and Anne Burnett Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. More information can be found here.
