Appointments, honors and activities

  • Faculty and staff honors:

- Donatella Danielli, a professor of mathematics, has been selected to the 2020 class of fellows of the Association for Women in Mathematics. AWM is a leading society for women in mathematical sciences and has more than 3,500 members (women and men). Danielli earned her Ph.D. in mathematics from Purdue in 1999. She returned to Purdue as a faculty member in 2001. She is also a fellow of the American Mathematical Society.

  • Notables:

- Abdul Salam, an assistant professor of computer and information technology, has authored a book titled “Internet of Things for Sustainable Community Development.” The book addresses key interrelated environmental, climate change, mining, energy, agroeconomic, water, forestry and social challenges. It also presents research of the sustainable IoT with respect to wireless communications, sensing and systems. The hardcover book is available on the websites for Springer, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
