Veronica Swift featuring the Emmet Cohen Trio to perform at Purdue on April 11
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Jazz ensemble Veronica Swift featuring the Emmet Cohen Trio will perform at Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse on April 11 at 7:30 p.m.
This performance is presented by Purdue Convocations with support from Dr. Nancy DiMartino and Stephen Borghi, and University Place.
Not all jazz vocalists find the intersection of verve and vulnerability, where playful, toe-tapping snap meets heart-melting, four-alarm torch songs. At age 23, Veronica Swift has already arrived there, encompassing the blues, bebop, Broadway, scat, swing, and the Songbook. Since her second-place finish at 2015’s Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, Swift has performed alongside Michael Feinstein, Chris Botti, Esperanza Spalding, and Danilo Pérez.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for people 18 years and younger, Purdue students and Ivy Tech Lafayette students. Tickets are available at the Stewart Center box office at 765-494-3933 or 800-914-SHOW. Group tickets are also available to groups of 10 more. Call 800-914-SHOW for more details or visit https://purdue.edu/convocations/group-sales/.
