Appointments, honors and activities

• Faculty and staff honors:

- Kelly Blanchard, a Purdue University alumna and a lecturer in the Krannert School of Management, was included in Poets and Quants’ 2018 list of the top 50 undergraduate professors. In 2016, Blanchard was inducted into the Purdue Teaching Academy. More information is online.

• Alumni honors:

- David Schwind, a 1974 Purdue University alumnus in interdisciplinary engineering, was honored with the 2018 Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers Samuel L. Warner Memorial Medal. The award recognized his contributions in motion-picture sound, specifically acoustic design. Schwind’s postproduction projects are important in how a mixer models a soundtrack and in the last 30 years he has created facilities for Skywalker Ranch, Pixar, Warner Bros., DreamWorks, Fox and Disney.
