New child care center seeks to fill staff positions

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Hiring is underway for the new child care facility at Purdue University that will open in August with the capacity to care for 140 children.

Positions being filled include center director, assistant director, program specialist, head teachers, teachers, assistant teachers, receptionist and cook. Applicants for the center director position can apply through the following link – http://www.knowledgeuniversecareers.com/job-search/job.php?title=160004uu-center-director-at-new-cclc-center-at-purdue-university#start – and are also encouraged to contact Amy Silvinski, field recruiting manager, at aslivinski@kc-education.com.

"We are excited to move one step closer to opening our new center by finding qualified people to fill these roles," said Candace Shaffer, benefits administrator, family programming. "Purdue families certainly need the additional child care capacity this center will provide, and we're looking forward to meeting that need."

Children's Creative Learning Centers LLC (CCLC) will manage the new facility in addition to the Patty Jischke Early Care and Education Center.

"We're honored to have the opportunity to partner with Purdue to run our programs in a new, state-of-the-art facility," said Nyssa Bradford, CCLC client relations business partner. "We realized what caring partners Purdue's faculty, staff and students are while transitioning operations of the Patty Jischke center at the end of last year. Their attention to detail and desire to meet the unique needs of children and teachers is evident in everything they do, right down to the design of the new building. We're excited to work with them to serve even more Purdue families."

The new center, currently under construction on Dexter Lane facing Horticulture Park, will provide a 63 percent increase in the full-time child care capacity on campus, bringing Purdue to the midpoint of capacity at other Big Ten and peer institutions. The 16,400-square-foot center will serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, with 116 of the 140 available spaces dedicated to preschool-age children.

Purdue currently provides on-campus care for infant through preschool-age children on the West Lafayette campus at the Ben & Maxine Miller Child Development Lab School, Patty Jischke Early Care and Education Center and Purdue Village Preschool, representing a total of 212 full-time slots. Each center is operating at 100 percent capacity.
