Free workshop to address shop safety, OSHA violations

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - South Shore Clean Cities Inc. will host a free workshop on shop safety and identifying how many of the most frequently cited OSHA violations exist within shops and facilities.

The event will be held at 10 a.m. July 13 in Room D119 at Ivy Tech Community College, 3100 Ivy Tech Drive, Valparaiso, Indiana. Lunch will be provided and space is limited. To reserve a spot visit www.southshorecleancities.org or contact Catherine Yoder at (219) 644-3690.

The workshop is part of the Green Fleet Educational Sessions held the second Wednesday of each month, and address a wide range of topics to promote the use of clean fuels and clean vehicle technologies and providing a better quality of life.

“This workshop focuses on safety standards and what hazards to look for in your working environment,” said Carl Lisek, executive director for South Shores Clean Cities Inc. “The goal of our event is to build knowledge and competence with the latest laws and safety regulations for your employees and facilities.”
