South Shore Clean Cities to host annual meeting

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. and MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. - South Shore Clean Cities Inc., a nonprofit organization sponsored through a U.S. Department of Energy program, will host its 2016 annual meeting Feb. 16.

The event will be 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST at Blue Chip Hotel & Spa, 777 Blue Chip Drive, Michigan City, Indiana. Carl Lisek, executive director of South Shore Clean Cities, said the event will celebrate the successes of its members and partner organizations.

"We also will recognize the achievements of northern Indiana's top alternative fuel users, distributors and supporters, as well as other industry 'A-listers' who have made great strides toward a cleaner environment for our region over the past year," said Lisek, who also is vice president of Purdue Research Park-based Legacy Environmental Services Inc. "Attendees will receive updates on the latest industry tools and best practices related to green fleets and the conversion process."

Vehicle manufacturers will display alternative fuel vehicles on-site during the meeting, and attendees with a valid driver's license will be able to test drive them for free.
