Crop insurance decisions to be discussed in webinar

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Crop producers are invited to attend a webinar hosted by the Purdue University Center for Commercial Agriculture to discuss the final crop insurance decisions they will need to make no later than mid-March.

“Making Your 2016 Crop Insurance Decisions” will be held Tuesday (March 1) at 9 a.m. EST.

A panel of Purdue agricultural economists will discuss 2016 crop insurance alternatives for farmers involving:

* Change in revenue coverage available in 2016 compared with last year.

* Whether they should change their coverage level to manage risks they will face this year.

* Ability to choose yield endorsement - new for 2016 - and how it can influence crop insurance decisions.

Presenters are Michael Langemeier, Purdue agricultural economics professor, and James Mintert, agricultural economics professor and director of the Center for Commercial Agriculture.

The webinar is free. Registration is available at the Center for Commercial Agriculture’s website at https://ag.purdue.edu/commercialag. Click on “Upcoming Webinars.”
