Smart manufacturing topic of Oct. 30 management conference

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — “Managing Smart Manufacturing” is the focus of an Oct. 30 conference at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. The event is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Rawls Hall.

The conference will feature three sessions with executive speakers leading discussions covering data, business challenges, 3-D printing, machines, people, manufacturing and robotics. It is sponsored by the Dauch Center for Management of Manufacturing Enterprises and the Global Supply Chain Management Initiative Center.

Speakers include:

Will Phillips, vice president technology, IndyCar

Daniel Louks, engine support engineer, IndyCar

Russell Hillenburg, president, Woven Metal Products, Inc.

Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, chief scientist and executive director, Purdue Discovery Park

Eric Matteson, plant leader, Lafayette Engine Facility, GE Aviation

Stacey M. DelVecchio, additive manufacturing product manager, Caterpillar Inc.

Roy Vasher, assistant professor of management, Purdue University

Bob Nida, vice president organizational development, Wabash National

Alexander Nazarov, chief engineer, Cummins Inc.

In addition to the speakers, a student poster competition for undergraduates and graduates will be offered. Posters will showcase summer internship experiences.
