Purdue experts to lead sessions at Fort Wayne Farm Show

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Extension specialists in weed control and agricultural economics will present informational sessions at the Fort Wayne Farm Show Jan. 12-14.
The annual trade show and exposition is held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne.
Topics and speakers:
Jan. 12:
* "Rethinking Your Sprayer Cleanout Procedure:" Fred Whitford, director of the Purdue Pesticide Programs.
* "Considerations for 2016 Weed Control:" Travis Legleiter, weed scientist.
Private Applicator Recertification Program credit is available for both sessions, as are continuing certification hours for commercial pesticide licensees and continuing education units for certified crop advisers.
Jan. 13:
* "Grain and Livestock Market Outlook:" Chris Hurt, agricultural economist.
* "Arthritis in Agriculture:" Amber Wolfe, AgrAbility project coordinator.
* "Nutrient Management and Regulations:" James Wolff, Allen County Extension educator. Also presenting are Bob Gillespie, Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne; Trisha Waller Dunn, Office of the Indiana State Chemist; Shelby Burlew, Michigan State University Extension; Glen Arnold, Ohio State University Extension; and Melissa Lehman, Agronomic Solutions LLC.
Private applicator and continuing certification hours are available for Indiana residents. Michigan residents are eligible for commercial and private core credits.

* "Managing Risk on Your Farm during a Downturn:" Jim Mintert, director, and Michael Langemeier, associate director, Center for Commercial Agriculture.
