July 20, 2015

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University's College of Agriculture and Agricultural Alumni Association are accepting nominations for two of their highest awards that honor alumni and others who have made significant contributions to agriculture or society.

"We encourage our alumni, partners and stakeholders to help us identify outstanding nominees from a broad range of backgrounds and disciplines for these two important awards," said Jay Akridge, Glenn W. Sample Dean of Purdue Agriculture. "We want to reach out as widely as possible to find people deserving of these recognitions through their leadership, service and accomplishments."

The Distinguished Agriculture Alumni Award recognizes mid-career professionals who hold a degree from Purdue Agriculture and have a record of outstanding personal and professional accomplishments. Nominees must exhibit strong potential for professional growth, particularly positions of greater responsibility and service to society.

DAA nominations are due by 8 a.m. Sept. 14. Current Purdue Agriculture employees and past Purdue honorary doctorate recipients are ineligible. For more information, contact Cindy Ream at cream@purdue.edu.

The Certificate of Distinction, sponsored by the Purdue Agricultural Alumni Association, recognizes professionals in any stage of achievement, including career capstone. Nominees are not required to have a Purdue Agriculture degree. Candidates must have made significant contributions to agriculture, forestry or natural resources and have a record of community or public service.

CD nominations are due Oct. 1. Current members of the Purdue Ag Alumni board of directors, Purdue administrators and elected officials still in office are ineligible. For more information, contact Donya Lester at lesterd@purdue.edu.
