10 Purdue researchers copyrighted work in 2013-2014

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Officials have announced that 10 Purdue faculty and staff members copyrighted their work in the 2013-2014 fiscal year through the Purdue Research Foundation's Office of Technology Commercialization.

Louis Tay, assistant professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences, copyrighted his work on a computer code.

"The code is for an online survey platform linked to a smartphone app that captures everyday experiences," he said. "This material was created as part of my research to examine daily activities and psychological experiences. There are many other researchers and market research companies interested in this, so I am starting a company that will help them capture this information."

Purdue faculty and staff whose work was copyrighted in the 2013-2014 fiscal year are:

* Antônio Sá Barreto, professor, Department of Mathematics, College of Science.

* Howard Cohen, professor, Department of English and Philosophy, chancellor emeritus, Purdue University Calumet.

* John Moreland, senior research scientist, Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation, Purdue University Calumet.

* Dimitrios Peroulis, professor, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering; deputy director, Birck Nanotechnology Center.

* Lucas Phillips, lead 3-D artist, Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation, Purdue University Calumet

* Louis Tay, assistant professor, Department of Psychological Sciences, College of Health and Human Sciences.

* Benjamin Wiles, assistant head, Department of Mathematics, College of Science.

* Aaron Nung Kwan Yip, professor, Department of Mathematics, College of Science.

* Chenn Q. Zhou, professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science; director, Center for Innovation through Visualization and Simulation; interim associate vice chancellor, Research and Graduate Studies, Purdue University Calumet

* Babak Ziaie, professor, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, College of Engineering.
