Purdue tartan products on sale

December 4, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Just in time for the holidays, products featuring Purdue University's official tartan are available.

The newest product is a lamb's wool scarf. Also available are ties in two lengths and a tote.

A portion of funds raised through tartan product sales will go for scholarships for students in the Department of Consumer Science in the College of Health and Human Sciences.

The official Purdue tartan was chosen last year. Three options were offered to online voters who chose the black-and-gold pattern designed by Krizia Phillips, then a senior majoring in apparel design and technology.

The winning tartan was verified and reviewed for originality by the Tartan Registry in Edinburgh, Scotland, a division of the Scottish government.

The products are produced and sold by Collegiate Team Apparel. Purdue tartan products can be ordered at http://www.collegiatetartan.com/
