Purdue President Daniels to be part of NBC's 'Education Nation' panel

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University President Mitch Daniels will be a guest panelist at the fourth annual NBC News Education Nation, which NBC defines as a national education summit in New York City focused on bringing together the nation's top thought leaders and influential policymakers to discuss the relationship between education and opportunity.

Daniels will participate in the first session: "What It Takes: More than High School - Disrupting Higher Ed," from 8-9 a.m. Eastern time on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at the New York Public Library. Joining Daniels on the panel to discuss higher education reform and how MOOCs (massive open online courses) and other technologies are changing the landscape are:

* Anant Agarwal, president of edX

* Dr. Paul LeBlanc, president of Southern New Hampshire University

* Rob Wrubel, chief innovation officer and executive vice president of Apollo Group
