Krannert earns high rankings in 2 business school surveys

July 29, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Krannert School of Management has been ranked among the best business programs globally in two new surveys.

Krannert ranked 18th in a survey of international business schools by Business Insider.

The publication says hundreds of American professionals with experience hiring MBAs were asked to determine the best business schools in the world. Business Insider says the majority of respondents listed skills and knowledge as the most important takeaways from a business school, while a network of contacts is a valuable bonus.

The Economist ranked Krannert 30th in the world and 15th among U.S. programs without partners for executive MBA programs.

The Economist says it ranks business schools on two broad criteria: personal development/educational experience and career development. Within these categories, it looks at 27 criteria, including the quality and diversity of students, the quality of the faculty, the percentage of students who receive a promotion after they graduate and the average salary increase graduates can expect. The data are a mixture of student-reported figures, student ratings and data provided by the schools.

"I am pleased by these recognitions for our outstanding students, faculty and staff," said Krannert Dean P. Christopher Earley. "Krannert represents innovation and impactful learning for great value in the marketplace. These strong results reflect a global esteem held for Purdue graduates."
