Telecommunications extension to affect West Lafayette traffic during June

June 5, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Commuters using U.S. 231/Northwestern Avenue in the West Lafayette area along the Purdue University campus should anticipate temporary lane closures in the coming weeks due to a telecommunication extension. This work will also limit pedestrian traffic between the Physics Building and the Materials and Electrical Engineering Building.

The Purdue University telecommunication network will be extended across U.S. 231/Northwestern Avenue from campus to Seng-Liang Wang Hall at 516 Northwestern Ave., across from the Physics Building.

Work was scheduled to begin the first week of June and to be complete by late June.

Commuters are asked to look for traffic flaggers and signs to help properly guide traffic flow through the area and alert drivers of the work ahead. Pedestrians also are advised to exercise caution and observe all signage, barricades and construction fencing.
