Women in Engineering plans open house for K-8 students

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University's Women in Engineering Program will showcase its afterschool outreach program, "Imagination, Innovation, Discovery and Design" (I2D2), during a Feb. 23 open house.

The program is free and open to girls and boys in grades K-8. It will be held in Hampton Hall of Civil Engineering, rooms 2118 and 2123.

Students and their families may come any time from 9 a.m. to noon to explore the open exhibits. Students and families will be able to participate in hands-on activities at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. The activities will explore basic engineering concepts under the guidance of engineering students.

No preregistration is required. Children must be under parental supervision during the event.
