Purdue police urge campus community to secure personal items after more reported thefts

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University police are reminding campus workers to secure personal belongings in locked drawers or cabinets after multiple reported thefts from unattended offices on Monday (Oct. 1) and Tuesday (Oct. 2).

On Monday, three incidents were reported in the Robert E. Heine Pharmacy Building. A fourth was reported in Heavilon Hall.

On Tuesday, three more incidents were reported on campus - one each in the Heine Pharmacy Building, the Purdue University Student Health Center and Elliott Hall of Music.

Purdue police Lt. Fred Davis said items, including cash, identification, credit or debit cards, and a gift card were among the items reportedly taken from wallets, purses and book bags.

Davis asks that any suspicious activities be reported to the Purdue Police Department at 765-494-8221.
