Purdue names 2012 Homecoming queen and king

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University students Stuart Shippee and Haley Mummert were crowned the 2012 Homecoming king and queen during a Friday (Oct. 12) campus pep rally.

They will appear at Homecoming festivities Saturday (Oct. 13), including the football game's halftime celebration.

Shippee is a senior studying aeronautical engineering from King George, Va. Mummert is a senior studying management from Kokomo, Ind.

They were chosen by online student voting and formal interviews by a judging panel composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community leaders.

Members of the queen's court are Kirsten Clawson of Princeton, Ill., Laura Donaldson of Kentland, Ind., Tara Driscoll of Mokena, Ill., Kendra Julian of West Lafayette, Ind., Molly Longest of Carmel, Ind., and Allison Willis of Cincinnati.

Members of the king's court are Brad Barnett of Georgetown, Ind., Addison Bradford of Indianapolis, Peter Chen of West Lafayette, Ind., Jacob Mattox of New Albany, Ind., Jude Nwaokobia of Onicha-Ugbo, Nigeria, and Curtis Wassum of Orchard Park, N.Y.
