Editor's note: Since 2010, Purdue Today has invited faculty and staff to recognize the good work of others on campus through its weekly "Thumbs Up" feature. The newsletter periodically will publish an expanded version of this popular feature in an effort to further call attention to employees' excellent work.

Mike Hicks, audio/visual equipment setup specialist in IT Customer Relations, recognizes Pamela White, media and instructional technology specialist in the College of Veterinary Medicine, for her assistance with the BoilerCast lecture capture system.

Hicks writes:

"Pam has been instrumental in helping refine several procedures associated with scheduling courses and adding users in BoilerCast. She is always so patient and kind, and her knowledge has been a godsend when it comes to working through technical issues. Pam has worked closely for years with me and Larry French, manager of learning spaces operations, to test and tweak BoilerCast functionality for her Vet Med faculty after changes are made in the system.

"Whether the changes are big or small, Pam always diligently works through them with us and thoroughly documents and reports her findings. When she suggests changes, they are always thoughtful and effectual; I can tell Pam has done her homework when researching solutions. And she always has such a positive outlook -- she always makes me smile, even when the pressure is on. Pam, you rock!"
