Boyle appointed interim vice president for human resources

Purdue Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer Chris Ruhl announced today (May 9) that Amy Boyle has been appointed interim vice president for human resources, effective July 1. She will succeed Bill Bell, who announced in February his intention to step away from his role at Purdue, effective June 30. This is the next step to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

Boyle’s background and experience make her well-suited to assume this new role, having served Purdue’s HR department for more than 20 years. Most recently, as associate vice president, talent, Boyle has had responsibility for ensuring that Purdue is well-positioned for the development, retention, engagement and attraction of innovative talent. Previously, she held positions in recruitment, compensation, employee relations and several HR leadership roles.

Boyle has been heavily involved in blending, providing vision to and leading various teams. Specifically, she led the merger of the former Student Life HR team and Physical Facilities team by combining resources, streamlining processes, realigning talent, elevating service levels and eliminating duplication. She was part of the Transform Purdue initiative, served as a change lead for the Human Capital Management (SuccessFactors) Project, worked on the job family structure and served as the HR lead on the Future of Work project.

Before joining Purdue in 2002, Boyle worked as an HR generalist in manufacturing.

Boyle holds two Purdue degrees, having received her BS in organizational leadership and supervision from Purdue West Lafayette and her MBA from Purdue Global.
